Checking Your Macintosh OS Version

If you are not sure your Mac's OS version meets the ThomsonNOW system requirements (OS X 10.3–10.4.3), here's how to check it.

To check your Macintosh OS Version
  1. On your Mac desktop, open the Apple menu.
  2. Select About this Mac > System.
  3. The System information is your operating system (for example, Mac OSX 10.3.7).

Setting the Mac System Date and Time

If your computer's date and time settings are substantially different from those of your local network or the ThomsonNOW server, you may have trouble signing in to ThomsonNOW. Here are two ways to check your Mac for the correct date and time and reset them if necessary.

Changing the Mac OS X Display Settings

ThomsonNOW's pages are designed for use with a screen resolution of 800 by 600 or more. It takes just a few quick steps to check or change this setting.

To change Display Settings in Mac OSX
  1. Go to Finder > Hard Drive > Applications.
  2. Scroll down, and double-click on System Preferences.
  3. In System Preferences, select Displays.
  4. In Displays, select the appropriate resolution for your monitor size (800 by 600 or more).
