Taking an Assignment

These step-by-step instructions walk you through the process to take an assignment.

To begin an assignment
  1. Use the tools on the Assignments page to display your course assignments in the most useful way. See Using the Assignments Page.

  2. Note: You can also begin an assignment from the Home page.

  3. Click , , or for the assignment you want to take. ThomsonNOW will load the Assignment Ready page . Click to open the Take assignment page.

  4. Note: You can click the button to return to the Assignments page instead. If you do so, the assignment will not be counted as taken.

To answer assignment questions
  1. On the Take assignment page, type or select an answer to the first question, and click Submit to save the answer and go to the next question.
  2. Depending on how your instructor set up the assignment, ThomsonNOW may indicate whether your answer was right or wrong. In some cases, you may be able to change incorrect answers.


    Note: ThomsonNOW may or may not automatically take you to the next question, depending on the assignment settings.

  3. If necessary, select the next question by clicking on its number in the question list.
  4. When you have answered all the questions, click to submit your answers.
  5. After you submit your answers, ThomsonNOW displays your score in the Assignment finished page. From there, you can go to the View Assignment page to review your answers (if your instructor allows it), print the assignment, or select other actions.

To save a partially finished assignment

Your instructor may have set up the assignment so that you can stop taking it and finish it at another time. If so, you can click in the Take Assignment page to save your answers.

Return to the Assignments page to resume taking the assignment.
