Viewing your Syllabus

The Syllabus page for a course contains important information about the course, including the start and end dates, the Course Key, the instructor's name and contact information, a description of the course, and detailed information about course assignments and assignment categories. It also provides links that let you join the discussion group for the course and print the syllabus.

You can access your Syllabus from two different locations in ThomsonNOW.

  1. From the Courses tab, click the course name in the Course column or the Syllabus link in the View column.
  2. From the Assignments/Tests tab, click the course name.

A syllabus contains the following information:

Course Information

The start and end dates for the course, as well as the Course Key.

Instructors

The name of your course or section instructor, along with e-mail and contact information.

Description

A short description of the course's subject matter, objectives, and prerequisites.

Assignments

The assignments for this course. Instructors can create categories, such as Homework, Practice, Quizzes, or Tests. Categories group and weight assignments for grading.
